When HBR starts writing about Men’s Mental Health at Work we better start paying attention. For too long, traditional ideas of masculinity have focused on power, competitiveness, and aggression. This has led to a culture where men are often afraid to show vulnerability and emotion, and where they are discouraged from seeking help or support. Connecting to Presence
When opening a circle (or connecting to an online group discussion) we open the space with a personal or group exercise that takes us out of our minds (our work tasks, our worries from the day or stress situations we have been in) into our hearts by doing a short meditation, priming exercise or a connection to the body through breathing, movement or dancing, and connect to the energy or emotion you’re in.
