Connecting to Presence

When opening a circle (or connecting to an online group discussion) we open the space with a personal or group exercise that takes us out of our minds (our work tasks, our worries from the day or stress situations we have been in) into our hearts by doing a short meditation, priming exercise or a connection to the body through breathing, movement or dancing, and connect to the energy or emotion you’re in. In case you carry something from the outside world. Are you happy or sad? Tired or energised? Did something upset you? Etc. Let it go and focus on your body and feeling in the present. Recognise your feelings or emotions and embrace them as they are all part of you.

Become aware of how you are tuned at this very moment and then “dust” it all off.

Make yourself light and “clean” and prepare to meet your brothers in a safe and “sacred” space.

Become aware that meeting in a circle is something sacred, powerful and ancient, a ritual our ancestors have used for centuries and millennia to come to where we are today. Let’s honour our ancestors and be grateful for the life given to us and any life form around us.

As such we can start any circle “clean”. As we meet with open hearts, we are open to becoming vulnerable. It’s important to recall this fact, to cherish and support each other in this “safe space” container.
